We had an 86 Westfalia…bought it used. It was our 3rd VW van. That van handled awesome. Like a sportscar. Turned on a dime. Parking, maneuvering U-Turns. Finally sold it for prolly way too little to a "friend" who disappeared. A 1988 is getting OLD! We just this week sold our 1993 Ford van. It was getting really old…a homeless persons owns it now…I have a feeling its life will be very short from here.
So there was video of your "dad's truck" when you first got her to yourself. Love your channel as you can find some history of your latest videos just by checking out the older ones 🙂
@Mustie1 I’ve been watching your videos for years now and have been trying to track down a vanagon westy since I was 12 years old, I finally got one!! It’s a 1983 water cooled westy I’ve been going through and fixing a lot of things on it we just rebuilt the fuel system and soon to tackle the cooling system. I’ve been driving it and it seems to be doing great! The electrical end of things is giving me a hard time, the bus says it’s over heating constantly, the dash light only work woth the emergency brake up same as the wipers, the fuel gauge works when it wants to and anything else I haven’t found yet haha. I’m in nh as well (Londonderry) I’m not sure if you’d be willing to but I would love to meet you and if you’d be willing to lend a hand with my bus at all? Keep up the great videos!!! You’ve been a huge inspiration to me for years now!
When I was growing up my dad drove an 80 vanagon. It was yellow with the ivory if I remember correctly. We got rid of it in the 90's due to having 3 vehicles and not using it too much. Ran great if I remember right.
AH, the VW Camper, I remember when Burlington VW first got the in the Show room in my early teens….
Mustie from the future send me here.
Ironically this van actually goes to Florida
The father crusher !
