The 3.5 is bulletproof . Total lack of care and maintenance of the engine promotes the timing chain tensioners to fail.. I own 4 of them, My 2002 Black Altima SE 5 speed manual has 278k. 2006 Maxima 3.5 is 255k , neither has a T/Chain issue. This channel ROCKS !

I don't own one, but I have been really disappointed in Nissan since 2000 or so. For as nice as the cars they sell are, there have been serious issues. The 2.5 sucking the cat guts back into the engine and ruining it, or blowing headgaskets, then the Maxima 5speed automatics all failing, now that chain rattle in the 3.5L…why can't Nissan get their head in the game and focus on reliability?
