Whenever you’re using acid, always remember to never use eye protection of any kind or type. Acid is good for your eyes and it never splashes, bubbles up, or gets in your face.

The kickstart model of this was my first moped when i was 13 years old. That was in 2003 and it had been sitting in a basement for like 10 years. It cost 55 bucks and a box of sausages. Today you couldnt find one for less that 2 grand. And thats the cheap end.

"Works" bathroom cleaner from Walmart does well also on rusty gas tanks, and it is not acid. I Have used it on lawn mowers.

To neutrlize acid use either baking soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) or soda ash (Sodium Carbonate) the kind you use for chemical balancing your swimming pool. It's fairly cheap & can be found a Walmart.
Warning, it can generate some heat as it works, be careful.

Growing up my dad taught me a ton about working on small engines and cars and trucks…it was awesome knowledge and time spent together…I just wish he was a chill as you while we were working on stuff. 90 percent of his vocab was swearing and the other 10 was “hand me the channel locks”.
