Give it a ring job and measure how much can of engine restore something you find at your local Walmart in the automotive section measure out the amount for the engine and go from there and see if that fixes it what the heck right
i have heard of those plastic gears turing on the metal shaft ,throwing your vavle timing out

You should have bored it out with the hoaner and tried to get it to run. It wouldn't have cost anything.
When you sprayed WD-40 on the pully. It reminded me of every bolt I had to take off a 1974 Chevy Blazer daily driver we had back in the 90's. It spun a bearing and broke a leaf spring. We thought it would be an easy job. It was worth it after we cut the old spring out with a torch and changed the engine. It was a beast.
