About to do this on my new to me 05 tundra. Rclb 2wd. Only 63k miles on it and the old guy who had it didn't want to fix it. Very similar to your rusting. Perhaps a little smaller. Otherwise clean one owner truck.
If nothing else, this exactly answers a long wonder of mine why you see so many gen1 Tundras converted to full tube chassis for running Trophy Trucks, and not so many Gen2s. If the frame is roached already, you're doing the truck a service! I'm also an '07 Gen2 Tundra owner. 👌 I was aware of the 'Tundra frame problem' when I bought mine, but I'm lucky that Toyota either figured it out, or mine's been in Texas its whole life. Not much salt to worry about. Hell, up until they hosted the Superbowl, the DFW area had two snow plows for the entirety of the metroplex…
Where you located? I need this done too
Mustie is my inspiration to make junk work….and thats a compliment!! NJ
I woulda gone with JB Weld and black paint.
