Try de-oxit as the primary cleaning fluid on the switch.
You should try using a small screen strainer from the kitchen with two coffee filters. Bet that would help clean the fluid up.

E 6000 for connections is better than the elastomeric stuff items come with and some Knipex tools for everything else
if you use only water,, it can be diluted and given to the fruit trees or vegetable as fertilizer

I'm in the market for an ultrasonic but so far not liking what I'm hearing from this brand. Either the power switch isn't working or their burning down.
