Straight hydraulic oil works best. Used oil swells up rubber suspension components and makes them brittle in time. Hydraulic oil lubricates the rubber without swelling it. Fluid Film and Woolwax is nice, but costs too much, and wears off in critical areas in a few weeks, especially in the Northeast. But anything is better than nothing
I just found bar and chain oil in a store today! and its cheaper than fluid film! Now all i have to do is inject that stuff into an empty can of the fluid film. maybe thin it down a little bit with old 2 stroke gas
I very much like this approach (rather than traditional undercoating). However, WHAT A MESS it makes! Maybe you should include a disclaimer, "Not for the faint of heart!" Thanks very much for your informative videos – your teacher's heart is evident in each episode.
10 parts petrol, 1 part fresh engine oil, 1 part wax/paraffin. Keep it warm in hot water. Spray on all nicely cleaned and dry suspension. Brilliant protection for at least 12 months. Cheap as peanuts.
for the amateur undercoater and for the good availability of these chain oils its the number 1 choice ! Thank you Mustie1 !!

What's a good sprayer to use for this?
