this is the 2nd part of getting a used set of safari windows installed in my 1967 vw bus. I had no instructions so we need to figure it out on our own, had some problems but it gets worked out. as far as the camera noise it is the auto focus causing it but can not do anything about it on this one. I will try another camera next time.
We're did you get frame kit from
I donโt care much about V Wโs but I do like when you work on Lucy she is so clean and classy !
poofy poofy
Did they ever offer screens ?
I've got a 1958 Willy's Wagon and would love to find a way to do this to my split windshield !!!
I would think that the talcum powder may dry out the rubber on those windows gaskets. I guess time will tell. I love these old buses, we had two of them when i was a kid and we went back and forth from Tucson Arizona to Grand Rapids Michigan every summer to beat the desert heat. It would take Mom 4 days to get us to Michigan and my Dad had very little vacation time so the gas pedal was on the floor the entire trip with the engines in both the '68 and the '74 (with an auto transmission and factory AC. Top speed on both was about 65 MPH full throttle, and I remember how the sound of that engine would lull me to sleep for hours, making the long trip less stressful with 5 kids in the bus with thick pads laid out on the floor for sleeping and room for everyone to stretch out. After the 3rd engine rebuild on the 74' dad bought Mom a Rabbit that she loved, especially the noticeable power increase when she put her foot in it lol.
I love all of your videos buddy, is there really anything that you can't fix or bring back from the dead? Merry Christmas today if you are of a mind.
Thank you for explaining how to move the wipers out of the way, i was wondering how to for a while ๐
I love it
The green tint is called solex and it would have to be laminated safety glass. Most glass shops will have access to this color. As for the powder, get a spray bottle with dish soap and water mix. Spray rubber and inside the channel. Get the frames onto the glass and compress as much as you can. Use a block of wood to tap on the frame to seat the glass fully into the channel. Maybe protect the painted frame with a rag or cloth. Tinting a windshield would look ok terrible in no time.
If I were you I would be very careful with that windshield on the way out like that. Bees birds and bugs. And you wreck your beautiful vehicle
You shouldโve knew that lacquer thinner was gonna take the paint off anyway
LOL ha ha
Remember when I told you use baby powder along time ago? Iโm sure youโll say no and take all the credit
great job with that first window.
You scared the crap out of me when you sped the video up. Nice job though.
