Never did any tig. Something for the bucket list. Welds looked pretty good for the thin material and being new at that. It's neat where you took on the challenge & built the custom tank instead of just using what was on hand!
I did bronze tig weding for 12 years. Im an expert. Let me tell the secret! To not leaving a hole. When you get done with your pass stop in one spot and while backing off the the foot feet slowly and swirl the tig welder around in a circle about a three eights round circle until the arc quits. yeah circle it round and round until it goes off. This will make it not leave a hole. Thats the secret. Spreads the heat out so it dont blow a hole in your weld. It works I know. By the way nice tig welder torch. Is that a lincoln tig welder its nice too. i would love to have one too and miller is great too.
I have an SR68 as well, its about 5 or 6 yrs old and has been dropped, kicked, and banged up all over. They are tough cameras!Tank is looking good Mustie!
great job, before you pull back the torch let the argon blow on the weld for just a second, you are welding like you have done it before now you just have to practice to keep up the skill with the mig, don't underestimate your ability, there are many things you have accomplished, some would never try, keep the videos coming……thanks
That's amazing mustie1. I wished I would have learned how to take well when I had one before they stole all my tools.
I got that framed and on the wall: " If you´re not a good welder, you shurely are a good grinder!!¨
That's what grinders are for to make the welds look good
Have you ever tried welding TIG without the shielding gas BUT with use of the flux core wire ??
I've never tig welded, but I find that rebar tie wire flows better than the rods. And seems more malleable on sheet metal. Tank looks good.
cool stuff I never tried that kind of welding….
