Ah the memories! I think so many of us first learned mechanics at the University of Briggs & Stratton.

Question – on a 6S Briggs carb does the stem that goes down into the gas tank unscrew from the carb? THANKS!!!!

These engines are great for small operating business since you could buy a small one and opperate a power hammer for blacksmithing, if it was slightly larger im sure you could opperate a mini saw. But a good primary use is for pumping water in fields. You could buy a water pump jack during the 30s and 20s from sears and roebuck. I like them since they are still useable.

I used to use old engines like that on my go-kart. They were great on gas and they idles super low and they had lots of power compaired to the new aluminum block engines that are out now. I loved the oil bath aur filters as well, there would allways be a bunch of dirt in the bottom on it at the end of i nice day of riding around. Ide change it out every day. And for the crank case ide allways use either 15w40 or sae 30.

I have a pretty good collection of medical and dental tools which I have used for ever. Mostly stainless steel and quite expensive when they were new. I bought all mine at various garage and estate sales here in Phoenix Arizona.
