Difficult but not impossible
I drove a Nascar style gocart on an oval track at an amusement park when I was a kid and it was obvious that some of the carts had a slight advantage, they must have had slightly more throttle than the others because they would pass the other carts fairly easily even if the other carts stayed on the inside of the turns.

On ANY new project when you ask "what do you want to do first ?" I always answer "Power wash it" !! Drives me nuts seeing you work around balls of mown grass, mouse houses, dead leaves, spider webs and oil caked dirt.!! UGH!
