I found a similar problem with my LT1050 with a HydroGear tranny (low oil). I heated a 16 penny nail and melted a hole in the top of the reservoir tank, then used a thin metal tube to "inject" about a pint of 20W50 oil (which is what mine called for) into the system. Then sealed it with an short screw that I put an O-ring under the head. Purged the air from the system & it worked fine, at least as good as it ever did. I mow about 2 acres with it. Local shop told me to throw it out & buy a better mower, but for $30…it works. At least now I can fill it without dropping the tranny. Added a drain plug to it as well (drilled & tapped for a 6mm flanged head with a rubber gasket seal.)
I bought one like it for 50 bucks Put fluid in trans , it was also leaking out of left side, but it worked great Replace the seal and been using it for 4 years on one acre of grass and weeds
Many folks just don't maintain mowers, its a throw away item to them. Most don't ever look at their manuals to learn anything. Its sad. I take pride in making things run as long as I can.
Hey I had a craftsman LT 1000. That had a so called inserviceable Trans. No fill plug so I took the vent out. And put fluid through there. Trans started working again and was still working when I sold it 6 yrs later

I’m betting it is the wrong belt, order the oem one and your in business
Common mistake
Yea that pulley is way down and needs a brace added to it, if not it will bend again
Try a small screw with a slid hammer, works for me

Axle bushings ware down they leak more, also clean the vent valve or replace it, that’s what I do when customers won’t a axle seal replace
Never tow or pull with it, that’s a killer for this machine trans
Nothing new about this break down
And most people just junk them
Good machines back when International Harvester made them. Junk now.
Should I change the oil occasionally or is it not needed?

You are not emberest on YouTube is not repireble. Is only lo on oil
My tractor moves good for 10 minutes then itll hardly get out of its own way
Don’t look like there’s any seal in it
😙
OUR transmissions are “non-servicable,” but we’d be happy to sell you a brand new shitty transmission for a mere twice the value of the new unit! 😄
